The Future of Digitized Locking

Why are electronic access systems more secure, and who are they for? Well, in short, there are some problems in conventional access solutions that simply don’t exist for their electronic counterparts. Things like key cloning, losing keys, creating keys quickly, providing temporary access, and key-holder anonymity are all examples of such problems. These can range from being a slight nuisance - like when a new person needs a key and you have to make one for them - to potentially drastic; like when a key goes missing. These problems are much easier to address when you have an electronic access system.

Manage Thousands of Locks

If you have a large number of locks, or a distributed infrastructure, conventional access management can be a logistical nightmare. Using our system, you can do it with the click of a button. Some of the tools that can be leveraged to make your locks more secure and easier to manage at scale include Time windows, Lock Groups, Multi-key, checkpoints, and more

Time Windows

Tools like Time Windowing allow managers to specify when a key is able to access a lock. When you have a large number of keys in circulation, making use of features like this are crucial to access management.

Maybe you only want a key to work during business hours? No problem, just set the time window to be between 9:00 and 17:00, Monday to Friday. Maybe you know the key needs to be active for an hour, but traffic is unpredictable? Simply set the key to be active for an hour from sync.

Lock Groups

It’s also possible to group locks that need the same permissions together. You need to provide a technician access to all your server cabinets for a day? No problem, you can place all your server cabinets into a single group and give a key access to the locks in that group during operation hours.

Lock Groups can also be used together to build out permission inheritance.

A Campus has Buildings, Buildings have floors, floors have rooms. It makes sense to use a system that takes the real world into account to make management easier.

Control Everything

Digitized locking systems are inherently more configurable than conventional locks and keys. Tweak your settings and make the behavior of your hardware work the way you need it to. From the obvious things like who the key belongs to, to the details like how loud your key beeps, simply change your settings through the web app and changes will be applied when a key is synced.
